The Academy's inaugural cohort launches in September 2026. We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis across all six professional training tracks. The sections below outline tuition, cohort dates, the application process, and answers to common questions.
The Academy operates on a three-cohort annual model, with each cohort running 12 weeks in a hybrid format (synchronous + asynchronous, one week on / one week off rotation). Tuition is set by track and reflects the depth of instruction, faculty engagement, and assessment requirements for each level.
Limited need-based scholarships and agency-sponsored seats are anticipated for the inaugural year. Inquire during the application process.
Each cohort enrolls up to 30 participants per track. Seat reservations are confirmed upon acceptance and deposit.
Applications are managed through our admissions platform. Once you begin, a member of the Admissions team will reach out within 5 business days to confirm receipt, request supporting materials, and schedule a brief admissions conversation.
If your question isn't answered here, we encourage you to reach out via the contact form below. Our Admissions team is happy to discuss track fit, credential pathways, agency sponsorship, and scholarship options.
Eligibility varies by track. The Community Member track is open to any community resident with an interest in civilian oversight. The Analyst, Investigator, Executive, Law Enforcement Practitioner, and Communications tracks are designed for current and aspiring professionals. The Graduate Certificate pathway requires a completed bachelor's degree; the Professional Certificate does not.
The Professional Certificate is awarded by the Academy upon completion of a single track and does not require a degree. The Graduate Certificate in Civilian Oversight & Public Accountability is currently in development; it is anticipated to be awarded upon completion of all six tracks and to require a completed bachelor's degree. See the Credentials page for full details.
Each track runs 12 weeks within a cohort, delivered in a hybrid format that alternates synchronous (live online) and asynchronous (self-paced) weeks — one week on, one week off. Tracks are designed to be completed sequentially or in parallel, depending on the applicant's goals.
